I read widely and subscribe to a number of daily devotional readings. So each day I read several writers coming from different perspectives.
Today I read a brief quote by Ann Voskamp. I saw her quoted by a longtime friend from my home town in Alabama. Thanks Pete. Here is what Ann said:
Life is brief and it is fleeting, but it is not an emergency. Stay calm, stay in the moment and give thanks. Is there anything under the sun unexpected to God? He has all things under control.
I need to read that every day. Maybe I will print it and place it around the house just to remind me that God really does have all things under control. I just need to give him thanks at all times.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
